چکیده
Background: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) is a chronic disease that produces tissue and considered to be potentially malignant disorder. The exact pathogenesis conversion mechanism of this disorder are still unknown. Myofibroblasts have been implicated as one the possible pathological mechanisms responsible for pathophysiology OSMF. present study was conducted evaluate expression myofibroblasts (MF) in normal mucosa different grades Materials & Methods: sample consisted total 80 specimens. group included specimens from clinically histopathologically confirmed OSMF patients. were divided into four groups. Group 1 19 grade III II had 20 OSMF, 3 with 21 I 4 constituted control epithelium Two sections each all groups obtained. While section stained H E, other immunohistochemically using α-smooth muscle antibody. For analysis, categorized strong, moderate, weak, or absent. All results recorded subjected statistical analysis. Results: In patients, irrespective grade, myofibroblast strong 28.33 percent while it moderate weak 30.00 40.00 respectively. Expression noted significantly increased patients compared controls well (p-value <0.05). Conclusion: raised can also correlated within where advanced stages show comparatively high these smooth muscles like fibroblasts. Hence, we suggest could assessed markers analyzing progression

Oral Submucous Fibrosis: A Chronic Deliberating Disease of Oral Cavity
Oral submucous fibrosis is chronic progressive condition of oral cavity. The condition is well recognized for its malignant potential. Usually the disease initiates with redness, blistering, and ulceration inside the mouth. It is characterized by progressive fibrosis of submucosal tissue. The pathogenesis of oral submucous fibrosis is not well understood. Betelquid chewing is the major etiologi...

Oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) is a premalignant condition caused by betel chewing. It is very common in Southeast Asia but has started to spread to Europe and North America. OSF can lead to squamous cell carcinoma, a risk that is further increased by concomitant tobacco consumption. OSF is a diagnosis based on clinical symptoms and confirmation by histopathology. Hypovascularity leading to blan...

Oral submucous fibrosis is a chronic, insidious disease affecting the oral cavity and sometimes pharynx. Although occasionally preceded and/or associated with vesicle formation, is always associated with juxtaepithelial inflammatory reaction followed by fibro elastic changes in lamina propria with epithelial atrophy leading to stiffness of oral cavity leading to trismus and inability to eat. Al...

We describe an interesting case of oral sub mucous fibrosis accompanied by severe trismus in a 23 years old man. The patient had initially been diagnosed as having internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint and conservative treatment had failed to decrease the symptoms. Despite extremely limited temporomandibular joint movement, cone beam computed tomography revealed no important abnor...

Oral Submucous fibrosis is a chronic progressive debilitating disease and often considered to be a potentially malignant disorder. Development of epithelial dysplasia in oral sub mucous fibrosis is debatable and the role of epithelium and connective tissue bed in its initiation, progression and promotion had been studied by various authors. Changes in epithelium of oral sub mucous fibrosis are ...
